What are the System Requirements for Digital Housekeeper® Mobile™?
Digital Housekeeper® Mobile™ will run on
any internet-enabled mobile device capable of running Windows Mobile 5. For a list
of devices, refer to the Microsoft website here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/default.mspx.
Minimum and Recommended System Requirements
The minimum system requirements for this application are 10 MB free storage space
and 10 MB free RAM. The recommended handheld system is the HP iPAQ with a
minimum of 64 MB of RAM.
Software Prerequisites
- ActiveSync 4.1 or higher (freely downloadable from Microsoft, most likely included
with your handheld software)
- .Net Compact Framework v 2.0 or higher (freely downloadable from Microsoft or the
Digital Housekeeper website).
Installation Requirements
To install the .Net Compact Framework v 2.0 and Digital Housekeeper®
Mobile™ you will need installation permissions on your desktop or laptop. In the
event of an update to Digital Housekeeper®
Mobile™ you will again need these permissions, or an understanding of manually copying
and running .CAB files on your handheld device. The easier of these two options
is to have either yourself or a system support person with installation permissions
run the required installation files.
Digital Housekeeper® Mobile™ Internet
Requirements
Digital Housekeeper® Mobile™ requires internet
connectivity to upload and download inspections to the handheld. Constant connectivity
is not necessary; the application is designed to work disconnected during the actual
inspection process. To retrieve the latest inspections to the handheld or upload
completed inspections to the website Digital Housekeeper®
Mobile™ will need to be connected to the internet, either by placing the handheld
in the cradle or by using a wireless connection. The best performance will be achieved
by performing the upload and download operations from the cradle; wireless performance
will vary based on a number of environmental factors.
-
Do you backup my data?
Yes. We automatically back up your data 2 times every day 10:00 AM and 10:00
PM. It's stored on firewall protected, redundant servers so your data is safe from
hardware and software failures, hackers and viruses. Because we update your records
with every change, we cannot restore your file to a previous point in time.
-
How reliable is Digital Housekeeper®?
We strive to keep Digital Housekeeper®
up and running for you. Digital Housekeeper®

-
What happens if my Internet access is down?
If your Internet connection at your current location is down you won't be able to
access Digital Housekeeper®. But, you can
still access your data from any computer with an Internet connection. It may be
inconvenient, but you can go to another location that has Internet access.
-
What is 128-bit SSL encryption?
128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption is the highest level of encryption
currently supported by commercial web browsers. This is the same type of security
used by many financial institutions. Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and above for
Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, Windows NT 4.0, and Windows XP already include 128-bit
encryption. If you have Windows 2000, you need to download the Windows 2000 High
Encryption Pack to get 128-bit encryption. To find out which version of Internet
Explorer you have and whether you have 128-bit encryption, go to the Help menu of
your browser, choose 'About Internet Explorer,' and see what is listed under 'Version'
and 'Cipher Strength.'
-
